My best photo equipment
I am definitely a tekkie girl & I like my gear BUT my best photo equipment is my Eyes & my Heart
Great technology is an amazing advantage to every professional photographer but it is my ability to connect with my models on a heart level, that lets me see & capture their true beauty.
In the beginning, I was definitely the apprentice with my Canon 450D, which is a great SLR entry-level camera. Shooting with this light and easy to use camera, with its standard 18-55mm lens was what inspired me to take the next step.
Before I meet with my first paying family I had to upgrade my gear & I wen all out with the Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8L II. When it arrived the sheer size & weight of this lens scared the life out of me. I picked it up from it’s box and gently put it on the shelf in the living-room, where it stayed for 3 days . . . before I dared to give it a go. The result . . . Blew me away!

All though my equipment have grown massively since then, the EF 70-200 is my best ever investment. It launched my business, gave birth to my brainchild and for years to come, connected me with so many wonderful people who love the work we do together. No amount of equipment can create that connection – only you heart & sole can.
I would love to hear your favourite photography story – pop it in the comments below, email me or share on my Facebook page. I would love to hear from you & I’ll be delighted to work with you.
